Given that Union restrictive measures, including Regulation 269, are drafted in broad terms to cover as many scenarios as possible to combat circumvention, in practice, questions frequently arise in relation to the interpretation of certain provisions. Thus, before addressing the particular Union restrictive measures, this Section provides a general overview of the interpretation of EU law.
