UN Charter
UNSC
On the level of international law, Chapter VII of the UN Charter prescribes actions with respect to threats to the peace, breaches of the peace, and acts of aggression. Pursuant to Art. 39 UN Charter the UNSC shall determine the existence of any threat to the peace, breach of the peace, or act of aggression. The UNSC shall make recommendations, or decide what measures shall be taken in accordance with Art. 41 and 42 UN Charter in order to maintain or restore international peace and security.
