Performance control in banking

An overview of the banking sector and, more particularly, of the use or design of performance control systems in the banking sector in the Netherlands, reveals that there are no comprehensive control systems actually in existence, while attempts of design are pretty poor. Deducing from concepts of management control in industrial organizations, a conceptual framework for designing a performance control system for use in banking was developed. In the empirical research it was found that the framework was generally applicable.
