10.1 Patent Office
National applicants and trademark owners as well as residents of some CIS countries can communicate directly with the Russian Patent and Trademark Office. Foreign applicants and trademark owners shall be represented by a registered patent attorney unless otherwise established by international agreement to which the Russian Federation is a party (Item 2, Art. 1247 of the Russian Civil Code). A power of attorney given to a patent attorney does not need a legalisation (Art. 4.2. of Federal Law „On Patent Attorneys“ No. 316-FZ dated 30 December 2008).
