Rights deriving from a trademark and from trademark protection may be transferred and assigned. An assignment is only necessary if there is a change in the legal entity. The change of name or address of a corporation does not require an assignment, but it is recommended to have the new data registered.
In case of a merger or spin-off the successor in title also acquires the trademark, unless otherwise provided by the parties or the circumstances clearly dictate otherwise.
