According to Art 40 of the Trademark and Geographical Indications Act, the holder of a right to a mark shall be required to notify the Patent Office of any change in the name or address thereof within three months. The change shall be recorded in the State Register of Marks, maintained by the Patent Office at the request of the holder. A standard form has to be filled in and submitted to the Patent Office. There is no requirement for additional documents (such as commercial register excerpts) to be attached to the application for change. Applications for changes of name and address are subject to payment of an official fee of BGN 80 per mark.
