As Serbia is a country that is in the early stages of accession to the European Union (the EU), the EU Directive 2005/56/EC on cross-border mergers of limited liability companies (the Directive) has not yet been implemented into Serbian law. Since Serbian company law currently regulates only mergers of companies incorporated in Serbia, a cross-border merger could not be executed and/or registered in Serbia.
