Only recently, detailed regulations for licence contracts have been introduced into Russian law. A licence contract is an agreement according to which „one party - the holder of the exclusive right in the result of intellectual activities or in a means of identification (licencor) grants or undertakes to grant to another party (licencee) the right of use of such a result or such a means within the limits provided for by the agreement“ (Art. 1235 of the Russian Civil Code). The trademark owner has a right to produce the goods or render services even if he granted an exclusive licence in their respect unless provided otherwise by the contract.21
