Abstract The year 2019 marks the first infringement proceeding under Article 46(4) as well as the first advisory opinion under Protocol No. 16 of the Convention. Overall, the Grand Chamber delivered fourteen judgments. One of these judgments concerned just satisfaction in an inter-State application. In relation to individual applications directed against Austria, the year 2019 brought a modest number of five judgments. Out of the five judgments, one is of particular interest regarding States obligations in cases concerning Article 2 and domestic violence.
