AbhandlungenMag. The new Guidelines on State aid for Climate, Environmental protection and Energy 2022 (CEEAG) adopted in January 2022 and replacing the former Guidelines on State Aid for environmental protection and Energy 2014–2020 (EEAG), inter alia serve as an example of the impact the European Green Deal has on various different fields of law and policy areas. Hence, there is no doubt as regards the EU’s ambitions to foster the implementation of measures to combat climate change and meet the ambitious goals as set out in the European Green Deal. In this light, as well as against the backdrop of the current assessment framework of aid measures, this piece aims to shed light not only on the novelties the new Guidelines entail, but also provide an analysis of the latter and the latter’s implications.
