New Basle Capital Accord - The consultative paper at a glance
The Basle Committee on Banking Supervision released a consultative paper on a new capital adequacy framework. The main objectives are to better address banking risks and to adopt the growing complexity of products and transactions on international financial markets. The proposal is released for consultation. Comments should be submitted not later than 31 March 2000. The Committee will take into account comments before issuing, in the course of 2000, a more definitive paper.
