A topic attracting increased attention from the public is the problem of insider dealing. Starting from the danger of overregulation the following considerations reveal the different approaches of the EC directive as well as the British Government's Policy and the US regulation on the other hand. After dicussing enforcement the author comments on the specific Guidelines of the Vienna Stock Exchange.
