In order to keep the register up to date and to facilitate information about any events concerning a trademark, such as serving applications for annulment, it is recommended to register any changes of name or address with the Patent Office. Registration is not obligatory. A simple application with a document confirming the respective change has to be filed. For changes of company names, excerpts of commercial registers showing the change („historical data“) are sufficient. In case of doubt the Patent Office may ask for originals or notarised copies of such documents, but this is not a general formal requirement. Applications for changes of name or address are subject to an official fee of PLN 30 per trademark.
