Merger procedures depend on the organizational form of the legal entities involved in the process. Since limited liability companies and joint stock companies are the most commonly used forms of legal entity in Ukraine, we will focus on the merger procedures for such companies. Joint stock companies may merge only with other joint stock companies. To merge a joint stock companies with a limited liability company, the organizational form of one of the companies must therefore be changed prior to such a merger.
