Establishment of a branch in BiH by a foreign company is possible only in the RS in accordance with the new RS Law on Business Companies applicable as of 1 July 2009; the laws of FBiH and BD provide for such possibility only for foreign banks. The branch office of a foreign bank has the status of a legal entity in BiH and is subject to the same requirements with respect to capital and reporting that apply to subsidiaries of foreign banks.
