The Directive has been implemented in Hungary by Act CXL 2007 on cross-border mergers of limited liability companies (Mergers Act) which came into force on 15 December 2007. The scope of the Mergers Act covers a company with limited liability (Korlátolt Felelosségu Társaság, Kft.), a stock corporation (Részvénytársaság, Rt.), a European Company (SE) (Európai Részvénytársaság) and co-operatives (Szövetkezet). In addition to the Mergers Act, the provisions set forth in other national laws applicable to purely national mergers need to be complied with, if and to the extent that the Mergers Act does not stipulate any other specific provision.
